OrangeConcept is orange because our design is deeply rooted in Dutch contemporary architecture. No windmills or tulips, just very clean architecture.

We believe the concept of a design is the driving force behind a coherent building. The concept could be anything. The key is to apply the idea consistently to every aspect of the project.

OrangeConcept was founded in 2012 by Jefta van Bellen. As a little Dutch boy Jefta had no idea he would end up in the USA. However, he always knew he wanted to be a designer and create architecture. He made his way through academia and received his Master in Architecture from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in 2004. He also spent some time studying abroad at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. Immediately after graduating he married a wonderful American/Swedish girl and packed his bags and moved across the ocean to Philadelphia. He spent his first 9 years working on large complex projects at one of the larger firms in town.

In 2012 the opportunity arose to design a project called "Pop!" for Postgreen. This first OrangeConcept home is currently under construction and sets a strong example of the kind of sustainable contemporary projects OrangeConcept delivers.

OrangeConcept is on a mission to prove that modern design does not have to be cold, minimalist and crazy. OrangeConcept creates architecture that is contemporary, with respect for the human scale. Although our roots are in Dutch architecture which is straight to the point and conceptual, the purity and warmth of Scandinavian design continues to influence our work.
